Happy Independence Day

Over 200 years ago, Americans rose up to declare their independence. They fought for their fundamental rights to protect their own freedom as well as the freedom of Americans for years to come. Although we reserve this day every year to commemorate achieving our independence, not all Americans today are living in true freedom.

According to the Global Slavery Index, 403,000 people are estimated to be living in conditions of modern day slavery in the United States. They are coerced or forced into unjust situations, exploited for profit and transported all around the country.

At International Sanctuary, we work to provide girls and young women escaping human trafficking with the tools and resources they need to achieve absolute freedom. Through employment, education, healthcare, and a safe, loving community, women are able to heal from their trauma and rebuild their lives with hope, dignity, and freedom.

This holiday, celebrate freedom by giving freedom to a young woman escaping human trafficking!
