Juneteenth | June 19, 2020
At International Sanctuary, we stand in unity for freedom. Our work every day is motivated by defending human rights and eradicating modern day slavery. We work to empower young women who have been enslaved through human trafficking.
Today, June 19, we celebrate freedom in honor of Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Over 150 years later, the Black community continues to face threats to freedom and justice throughout America. We know from our work internationally that the movement for freedom and justice is global. Our vow is to continue this fight for freedom at every opportunity.
We are grateful to you, our community of individuals who stand for these truths: hope, dignity, and freedom.
