May Impact Report | May 29, 2020
In the midst of crisis, we have watched the survivors in our program show the world that they refuse to be victims. On their own volition, they have chosen to be a beacon of hope for vulnerable women in their own communities.
In Mumbai, a young woman sat huddled on the street with her two children. She had recently been kicked out by her husband, and her parents refused to take her in.
Anika*, a survivor in our program, had been worried about having enough to eat with her limited access to markets due to the shutdown. However, in the midst of her own problems, Anika chose to look beyond her situation. She teamed up with a friend and began collecting money for the young mother on the street, so she had enough to support herself and children during this time.
Your donation fuels these actions and ensures that Anika, and every woman in our program, can continue to live the life she wants to live.
