Celebrating New Chapters

Celebrating New Chapters

Grief has limits, whereas apprehension has none. For we grieve only for what we know has happened, but we fear all that possibly may happen.

The start of something new is always met with a mix of excitement and apprehension.
Would it work out? Would it meet expectations - mine as well as of those around me? Would it make or break me?

Sudha completed her Masters in Economics in September ‘23. She enjoyed studying, was good at making jewelry and dreamt about becoming a teacher. To grow her teaching, time management and class skills, we encouraged her to teach at our Sanctuary in Mumbai.

A few months of trying and she landed her dream job but the joy of teaching was overshadowed by the overwhelming administrative burdens placed on her. After wrestling with this for two months and speaking to us about all that she was going through, she made a bold move in August this year—choosing to leave and hunt for a new opportunity. Instead of seeing herself as a victim of her circumstances, she made an informed choice.

That is what we at International Sanctuary intentionally work toward. That each of the women we work with are able to plan and resiliently pursue their goals.

Like Martha, turning an initial business failure into a successful venture of supplying wooden boards.

Or Alma, who overcame hesitation around her age and graduated from Grade 12, proving age is just a number.

And Ruby, who despite her low grades, impressed the management of a reputed college through her communication so that they gave her a spot in their prestigious college for social work.

These young women are charting a course for their lives and crafting their destinies! Your faithful investment in their lives is making it possible.

January may be Human Trafficking Awareness Month, but at International Sanctuary, we celebrate it every month. We fight for freedom, and a shot at a bright future, hand in hand with these incredible women.

Join us. Hear their stories. Witness their triumphs. Fuel their fire!

If you’d like to know more about how you could continue to grow your investment into the lives of these wonderful women - please do reach out to me, I'd be honored to share the incredible growth we're witnessing!

Wish you a fantastic 2024!

Thank you!
