Thank You Wendy

Dear Faithful Supporters,

We are writing to share some exciting - yet bittersweet - news. Wendy K. Dailey, our President and co-founder, has made the decision to step out of her current role as of December 31, 2020. She has asked the board to recruit a new president with the skills necessary to dramatically expand our proven model. Wendy will be missed as our most senior leader but will continue to serve on the board, providing her expertise to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing success of the mission.

International Sanctuary exists to empower girls and women escaping human trafficking to embrace their true identity and worth. Wendy’s boundless passion for survivors of human trafficking is unparalleled, as is her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. She has led the organization, since its inception, through a tremendous growth period and has dedicated over 13 years of her professional life helping girls and women heal, grow, and realize true freedom. Though COVID has been challenging for us all, it has also stimulated new thinking and approaches. For Wendy, her reflection led to the realization that new skills are needed for us to dramatically reach more vulnerable girls and women and relaunch our retail-based social enterprise, significantly impacted by the pandemic.

Due to strong stewardship and partners, International Sanctuary has the capacity not only survive – but thrive – as we continue to successfully navigate the global pandemic and further empower girls and women escaping human trafficking.

The Board has initiated a nationwide search to find our next President/CEO as we are committed to continuing the groundbreaking and unique social program and enterprise model that is core to International Sanctuary’s incredible impact. We will update our loyal supporters as we carefully and thoughtfully recruit our new leader. During the interim, the organization will be led by Wendy’s exceptional and dedicated senior leadership team in partnership with the board, seasoned staff, and volunteers around the world.

Thank you for your continued support of our mission and programs. If you would like to connect personally to discuss our plans or any other topics, please contact Andrews Evans, our Chief Development Officer, at andrew@isanctuary.org or me at susan@isanctuary.org.

May you and yours stay safe and experience peace and joy during this holiday season.

Susan Cramm
Board Chair
