We have loved getting to know the Rooted Beauty team, and were so excited to find their mission aligned closely with ours – to help empower women. It seemed like a natural partnership to form. We asked Lindsey Peterson, Creative Manager, a few questions to help explain a bit more in depth about their products and company purpose. 

1.  How did Rooted Beauty get started?

Growing up, Kim Garrett - Rooted Beauty Founder, had a passion for beauty and skincare products. Taking that passion with her, Kim entered into college where she began to learn more about women's injustices around the world. Not wanting to just talk about making a difference, but rather do something, Kim began to see an opportunity to mix natural skincare with the ability to empower women under the bondage of oppression. Rooted Beauty provides innovative, natural skincare products with the opportunity to empower women around the world to rise above extreme poverty and trafficking. 

2. How do the sales of your lip butters help women escape from poverty and trafficking?

Each Rooted Beauty Lip Butter is linked to a specific woman through our Woman2Woman Project. Setting aside part of the proceeds from each lip butter, we are able to fund a woman's project, giving her vocational training, recovery counseling, and the opportunity for new life! Once a women's project is funded we begin a new project, creating a cycle of ongoing impact. 3. What ingredients are your lip butters made from?

Our lip butters are made of all-natural, gluten free ingredients, which can vary slightly based on flavor but include: Butyrospermum Parkii Butter (Shea Butter), Cera Alba (Beeswax), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Butter, Honey, and natural fruit extracts
